Myths and Legends

We read lots of Irish myths and legends in the run up to St. Patrick's Day. We love these stories, we read about the Giant's Causeway, Salmon of Knowledge, Cuchulainn, Tír na nÓg and the Children of Lir. Lots of children brought in their own books to share with the class.

Autumn is well and truly here. We used autumnal colours and a cotton bud to recreate the pointillism technique. We gathered leaves from around and used them to make leaf prints using the same colours of red, orange, yellow and brown. We know these colours in Irish too dearg, oráiste, buí agus donn.
