January

2018 got off to a great start in our classroom. Have a look at all the fun we had in January.

We really enjoy drama activities. Here we are acting out our Green Machine song in music lessons. Poor Auntie May gets a terrible shock when she arrives home from her shopping trip to find her green machine isn't working properly.

We particularly enjoy the chorus: 'Whizz, bang, boing, ping!'

The Feast of the Epiphany is celebrated on 6th January. We visited the church on Monday 8th January to see the three wise men in the manger.

We have many talents in our class and love sharing them with others. Here we are learning some ballet steps from one of our friends. First we watch carefully then we join in.

Congratulations to our wonderful SNA, Gráinne, who got engaged during the Christmas break. We made cards for Gráinne and Mike and surprised her with a little party in the classroom.

The fantastic Gerry Spellman was back for more hurling in January. He taught us some fantastic skills and was so proud of the progress we made in just six sessions. We will continue hurling every Thursday so that we can continue to develop our skills.

We entered the Write a Book competition. It really made us understand the hard work that goes into creating a book. We brainstormed ideas, worked on our introductions both at home and in school, edited our work, typed it and finally illustrated our books. We listened to other people's stories and helped them by offering ideas about characters and the plot. It took a long time but we were all very proud of our finished books. We also really enjoyed reading the entries from 1st and 2nd class in Tuam Educate Together N.S.
